DCU Preview: Thunderbolt

I'll get straight to the preview for all you impatient folks out there:

Isn't that just some hotness right there? I've always been a fan of the JSA team since we first saw them in DCR (Infinite Crisis) and have always wanted to see them again. Im happy to see that they got a relook in DCU. It could be said that this version of Thunderbolt is a little bit more restricting than its original incarnation, it does allow for some great interactions with our newest keyword Rally. Speaking of which, heres another card that I've been previewed, and all you faithful DCU fans should have a chance to check it out too:

Isn't that just a sweet two card combo for your sealed play? The ability to make an attack on curve and still be able to come out un-stunned during sealed play is almost game-breaking next to KO effects. With cards like Grudge Match being likely first picks in drafts, any way to get away with an attack and not being able to stunned is a good one. This nifty little synergy with Mr. Terrific and Thunderbolt help facilitate this in regular game play.

From what I've gathered, JSA will have a main theme revolving around the Rally keyword that was introduced to us in the Marvel Universe set. With that in mind, there are so many cards that you could use to make a sweet ass Avengers/JSA deck. However, I have also been told that there will be small hints of the past JSA themes of exhaustion and up-curve strategy. However, the real value of Thunderbolt can only be judged when you fully see what the rest of the set has to offer us. I for one can't wait to see what they have next in store for the JSA.
